Biography
Jayne Strickland was born at Birregurra, Victoria in 1971.
She attended her local secondary High School in Colac from 1983 to 1988, going on to Melbourne University Institute of Education to complete her Bachelor of Education Visual Arts in 1992.
Her work from this period was exhibited in the Graduate Exhibition Hexahedron '92 at the Roar 2 Studio in 1992. In this same year she was represented in the Works on Paper Exhibition at Gryphon Gallery at Melbourne University.
In 1996 she was the guest exhibitor at a group exhibition at the Australian Contemporary Art Fair and at Feral Gallery, and following this was a selected entrant into the Murwillumbah Print Award at the Tweed River Regional Art Gallery in early 1997.
She completed her Honours Fine Art Printmaking at RMIT in mid 1997, and was represented in the Honours Graduate show at Gallery 101 and the International Works on Paper Fair in Sydney.

In August 1997 she had a solo exhibition of prints at Chrysalis Publishing.
Strickland travelled in Europe and America in 1997-98.
On returning to Australia she was represented at the Australian Contemporary Art Fair 1998 and co-member of an exhibition at The Essoign Club, Owen Dixon Chambers, Melbourne in October 1998.
Her work was selected for exhibition in the Illawarra Aquisitive Art Award Show .
Her work was exhibited at the Melbourne Artfair in 2000, the International Works on Paper Fair ( Sydney) and Goya Galleries Melbourne in 2001, and is represented in private collections in Australia, America and Canada.
Jayne Strickland worked as a printmaker for Chrysalis Publishing, both part time and full time from 1993 to 1998.
