Born in Oban, Scotland in 1945, Euan Heng completed a Post Diploma of Art at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art in Scotland in 1975. His works were included in several group exhibitions and he had two solo exhibitions at Stirling Gallery, Stirling, Scotland in 1974 and 1976.  Before commencing formal art studies Heng worked for four years as a merchant seaman, travelling the world extensively.
Euan Heng came to Australia in 1977; since then he has had over 23 solo exhibitions of prints and paintings. His works are held in the Public Collections of The National Gallery of Australia, State Galleries of Victoria, Tasmania and Queensland, 18 Regional Galleries and over 15 major Educational Institutions.
His works have been exhibited in numerous group and survey shows including at the National Gallery of Australia; Heide Museum of Art, Melbourne; National Gallery of Victoria; New Parliament House, Canberra; The Canberra Museum and Gallery; Queensland Art Gallery; State Library of NSW; Regional Galleries throughout Australia. 
Internationally,  his works have been exhibited in Italy, Canada, Scotland, U.S.A, Korea, Japan, Taiwan and the Phillipines. 
In 1995 he commenced a Master of Arts (Research) at RMIT University, and in 1999 was awarded an Australia Council Residency at the British School at Rome.
He now lives and works in Melbourne and is currently Associate Professor in Fine Art (Part Time), Faculty of Art and Design at Monash University.
