Paul Selwood was born in Sydney in 1946. He first studied Sculpture at the National Art School, East Sydney Technical College in 1964–65, and was awarded a Master of Fine Art at COFA, Sydney, in 1993.
Since 1972 he has held numerous solo exhibitions, including at The Sir Hermann Black Gallery, University of Sydney (1998). His work has been selected for many group exhibitions, including the National Sculpture Award, National Gallery of Australia (2005); Sculpture by the sea, Sydney (1999, 2000 and 2002); the Wynne Prize, AGNSW, Sydney (1998); Shifting ground, AGNSW (1990); and the Australian Sculpture Triennial, Melbourne (1981 and 1984).
In 2002 he completed a commission for the Victorian Bar Association, Owen Dixon Chambers. His work is held in the collections of the Art Gallery of New South Wales, Heide Museum of Modern Art, Melbourne, and Regional Gallery and University collections throughout Australia.
Paul Selwood now lives and works in Wollombi, New South Wales.
