Drawn from works made over the last 12 years the exhibition is comprised of 36 works and features 23 black and white linocuts, the hallmark of Ryrie’s oeuvre. His images range in size from a monolithic 112 x 76 cms to a diminutive 18 x 12 cms, and address the eternal dilemmas of mankind through the great storytellers Ovid, Aesop, Wilde, and his own mythic world. These are not lifeless, hectoring lectures, but bold, compassionate and generous images.
